-Full Face Helmet (half or ¾ helmets just won't cut it when the temps drop)
-A Neoprene Mask you can get these with a full hood, but I find the lower cut is easier to fit into my helmet (I use this only when it is extremely cold)
-6 in 1 hood thingy (don't know the name, but this thing is gold! I don't use it like a hood I scrunch it down to form a seal between my helmet and jacket.
Body
-Get a good jacket that closes up at all the extremities (3/4 length or one-piece, -ed.)
-Electric heat is the single most important piece of winter riding gear I have. You cannot appreciate how good it works until you use one.
A fellow Polar Bear (thanks Dave) gave me this .pdf product which gives a better pictoral of what to do.DIYHeatedjacket1.pdf
Hands
-Get Good Winter Riding Gloves
-Hand guards (like on dirt bikes) are another option for some bikes, don't think they will work on full faired sportbikes.
-Carry a set of Hand warmers with you, these can be found in the hunting or outdoors section of department stores. You simply open the packet and shake instant heat!
-The best thing I have done so far is heated grips! I paid around65.00 for a set of Oxford Grips off of ebay.
-New these seem to be the latest fashion statement with Polar Bears again on ebay for around $20
Legs and Feet
-Gortex rain pants work pretty well Ski pants work even better! (in the Spring all the sporting stores are clearing out ski pants for ridiculously cheap prices, fyi).
-Electric socks, yep they make them. Mine are a cheapo pair, "D" battery powered. They work really well, you need to make sure you DO need them though. Wear them when it is too warm and you'll feet will sweat then freeze!
These guys have been a great source of gear to West Central MO Polar Bears
